2 cases of advanced mucin producing pancreatic tumors are presented with a literature review. 259 cases had been reported around the world until 1993, but controversy about the term and clinicopathologic entity still exist. Histologic diagnosis is necessary to select the adequate surgical treatment for mucin producing pancreatic tumor but a preoperative diagnosis for benign or malignant lesion is sometimes very hard. Large tumors(> 3㎝), marked dilatation of main pancreatic duct and presence of mural nodules are known to strongly suggest the malignant variant. In those cases, surgical treatment should be performed.
